Why The Phoenix Hotel?
Since it functioned as a hangout for classic rock bands playing at The Fillmore in the 1950s, this 1950s motor lodge has been a magnet for the cool crowd. In San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, the Phoenix Hotel has been reborn as an ultra-hip mid-century lodge. The rooms are modest and simple, but the textured pillows, live-edge coffee tables, and dramatic flashes of color make up for the lack of space. Private balconies and separate living areas are available in certain apartments.
